In this guide, we will describe how to port your numbers and highlight the essential requirements you should address before initiating the porting process.

So, let’s get started.

Porting Requirements (To Be Considered Before Porting Out Your Bell Mobility Phone Number)

Before you port out Bell Mobility phone number to KrispCall, there are several things you need to take into account. Here are some of the factors to consider:

1. The Number Must Be Portable

First and foremost, make sure that the Bell Mobility phone number you wish to port is portable. You can use our Number Porting Eligibility Checker tool to check if your phone number is eligible to port.

To check, enter your existing Canadian phone number in the number section, select the phone number type, and then select Check Porting to confirm that it is eligible for transfer to KrispCall. If it's valid, a confirmation message will appear.

2. The Number Must be Active

Besides being portable, you must ensure that the phone number is active. Further, the phone must remain active throughout the porting process. Hence, you shouldn’t cancel your Bell Mobility service until the porting process has been completed.

If your Bell Mobility number is inactive, contact the provider and ask them to activate it. Then, you can proceed with the porting process.

3. Clear Outstanding Payments

Before porting out your Bell Mobility phone number, you must also ensure that there are no outstanding charges on your Bell account. Outstanding charges could be a bill that is not paid, a device payment, or anything else. Unpaid bills can delay or prevent the porting process.

4. Submission of Necessary Documents & Information

The porting process also requires you to submit some necessary documents and information. Thus, before initiating the porting process for your Bell Mobility phone number, arrange documents such as a Letter of Authorization (LOA), Customer Service Record (CSR), recent phone bill, account number, and PIN. Ensure these documents are up-to-date and contain accurate information.

Information and Document Requirements (To be submitted to KrispCall)

Here are a few information and documents you need to submit to KrispCall:

1. Phone Numbers

You need to provide a list of the phone number(s) you want to port, either pasted in the email body or attached in a spreadsheet. The phone number must be in proper format. A Canadian phone number's complete and proper format consists of 11 digits; the country code is written first, followed by a 3-digit area code and the remaining phone number.

The format for a complete Phone number in Canada is +1-XXX-XXX-XXXX.

2. Letter of Authorization (LOA)

You need to submit the Letter of Authorization (LOA) dated within the last 30 days to KrispCall to port your Bell Mobility phone number. LOA verifies your ownership of the number and provides crucial information to the porting representative for successful number transfers.

This is a mandatory document; we cannot process a port without it. When issuing the LOA, please ensure that it contains all porting numbers, end user information (the owner of the number, which is you), and a signature that is either physical or electronic. Also, make sure that the information on your LOA matches the authorized user name and service address provided by your current carrier.

Follow these instructions to fill out the LOA form:

FieldInstructions to fillAdditional Comments

The CSR is a complete record of the information your existing carrier has about you. This document contains information about your address, phone number, and billing address.

Please note that submitting CSR isn’t mandatory, but it can significantly assist in speeding up porting.

4. Most Recent Phone Bill

Similarly, you should provide a scanned (or electronic) copy of the most recent phone bill, ideally dated within the past 30 days. The bill must contain information about the account number, owner/authorized user name, and address for all the numbers you intend to port.

5. Account Number and PIN

Lastly, you must provide the account number and PIN associated with the phone number you intend to port.
