How to Update your Windows driver on Windows
Suppose you are constantly experiencing issues related to audio, such as low or no sound, crackling, choppy output, or microphone problems during a call on KrispCall. In that case, it may be due to the outdated or corrupted audio drivers on your Windows device.
Having proper and up-to-date audio drivers is essential for a seamless and uninterrupted calling experience. Hence, here’s how to troubleshoot and update your drivers for improved call quality:
Reinstalling Audio Drivers
- Open the Device Manager on your PC.
- Go to the Audio inputs and outputs.
- Right-click on the microphone or speaker and select Uninstall device.
- After removal, right-click on 'Audio inputs and outputs' again and choose 'Scan for hardware changes'. This reinstalls the default drivers.
Note: If the drivers on your PC don’t reinstall automatically after following the mentioned steps, please refer to the steps below based on your device manufacturer.
Downloading Updated Drivers by Brand
Dell Devices
- Visit the Dell Drivers & Downloads page.
- Use Detect PC or browse manually.
- Click "Detect Drivers" and follow the prompts to install the updates.
HP Devices
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Select your device and click Check for updates and messages.
- Download and install available audio-related updates.
Lenovo Devices
- Go to Lenovo Support.
- Choose Detect Product or select your device manually.
- Click Drivers & Software, then use Automatic Update (Scan Now).
Acer Devices
- Use Acer Care Center to check for updates.
- If it's not installed, download it from the Acer Drivers & Manuals page.
- Enter your Serial Number (SN) or look up your device by model name.
- Select the Application category from the list, locate Acer Care Center, and click Download to obtain the installer.
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file, run the setup, and follow the on-screen instructions.
