How to Allow Microphone Access for KrispCall on Your Browser
If you're having trouble being heard during calls on KrispCall, your browser might not have permission to access your microphone. For KrispCall to work properly, you need to allow microphone access at both the system and browser levels.
These permissions ensure your voice is transmitted clearly during calls and that KrispCall can function without interruption.
The setup process is simple and only takes only few minutes. Follow the steps below based on your device and browser settings to get started.
For Chrome users on Mac:
- First, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- Then toggle Google Chrome to ON.
- If prompted, select “Quit & Reopen”. If you choose “Later”, manually restart Chrome to apply the changes.
For Chrome users on Windows:
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- Under Microphone, enable “Let desktop apps access your microphone”.
Browser-level Permissions:
When using KrispCall inside another platform (like HubSpot or Pipedrive), Chrome needs permission for those specific pages:
- Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
- Ensure that microphone access is set to 'Allow'.
- Or go to Chrome Settings → Privacy and Security → Site settings → Microphone.
- Make sure “Sites can ask to use your microphone” is enabled.
- Confirm that the domain (e.g., app.krispcall.com or your integration platform) appears under 'Allowed to use your microphone'.
Once these steps are done, your microphone should be ready to use with KrispCall.
