Setting up Zoiper Softphone with KrispCall

Zoiper is a popular softphone application available on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS that allows you to make and receive VoIP calls using your existing SIP credentials. If you're looking for a flexible way to access your KrispCall number from your desktop or mobile device, Zoiper is a great option.


This guide walks you through the step-by-step process of connecting your KrispCall account to the Zoiper app using your SIP credentials.


Setting Up SIP Deskphone in KrispCall

Before setting up KrispCall on the Zoiper softphone, you must first complete the "SIP Deskphone Setup" process within your KrispCall account. This step is essential as it provides the SIP credentials, such as your username, password, and SIP server, that are required to configure the Zoiper app.


1. Access Number Settings:

  • Log in to your application.
  • Navigate to the "Number Settings" section.


2. Enable SIP Deskphone (Beta):

  • In the "Incoming Call Strategy" section, locate the option "SIP Deskphone" (Beta).
  • Click the radio button to select "SIP Deskphone".


3. Generate SIP Credentials:

  • Click the "Generate SIP settings" button. This will create unique credentials for your SIP deskphone.
  • You’ll receive the following information:

1. SIP Domain

2. SIP Username

3. SIP Password


Note: (These credentials are static and cannot be changed.) There is a button to copy each credential for easy pasting.


4. Set Unanswered Call Handling:

  • From the "If unanswered" dropdown menu, choose how you want calls handled if you don't answer:

1. Dismiss Call (Default): The call ends without going to voicemail.

2. Voicemail: The call is directed to your voicemail.


5. Save Changes:

  • Click "Save Changes" to activate the SIP deskphone functionality.


Using Your SIP Deskphone


After generating the SIP credentials, you will need a SIP deskphone or a softphone application. Configure your chosen device using the provided SIP Domain, Username, and Password. Once configured, incoming calls to your virtual phone number will be directed to your SIP deskphone or softphone application.


Configuring Zoiper 5 Softphone Application


  1. Download and install the Zoiper 5 application on your device.


  1. Launch Zoiper and select Continue as a Free User.


  1. Enter the SIP Username and SIP Password generated from Krispcall and click Login.

  1. In Hostname, enter the SIP Domain from Krispcall and click Next. 

  1. Click Skip and Next.


  1. Enter any desired Domain Name, select SIP from the dropdown, and click Create

Account.


  1. A green tick mark will appear alongside the account name, indicating successful

Registration.

  1. Now you are ready to receive calls on your chosen SIP Deskphone or Zoiper.


Important Notes:


  • This SIP Deskphone feature is currently in Beta testing. Functionality and configuration options may change in the future.


  • The SIP credentials you generate are unique and cannot be changed. Be sure to copy and store them securely.


  • Ensure your SIP deskphone or softphone application is compatible with your virtual cloud phone system.
