Setting up KrispCall with Grandstream IP Phone

Grandstream IP phones, such as the GXP2130, are reliable hardware-based VoIP phones commonly used in offices and call centers. If you prefer using a physical desk phone with KrispCall, you can easily configure it using your SIP credentials.

This guide walks you through the process of connecting your KrispCall account to a Grandstream IP phone.

Setting Up a SIP Deskphone in KrispCall

Before setting up KrispCall on a Grandstream IP phone (e.g., GXP2130), you must first set up SIP Deskphone in KrispCall. This step is essential because it provides the SIP credentials (username, password, and server details) required to configure your Grandstream device.

1. Go to Number Settings

  • Log in to your KrispCall account.
  • Head over to the “Number Settings” section.

2. Activate SIP Deskphone (Beta)

  • Under “Incoming Call Strategy,” find the “SIP Deskphone (Beta)” option.
  • Select it by clicking the corresponding radio button.

3. Generate Your SIP Credentials

  • Click on “Generate SIP settings.” This will provide you with a unique set of credentials for connecting a SIP-enabled deskphone.
  • You’ll receive the following information:

1. SIP Domain

2. SIP Username

3. SIP Password

(Note: These credentials are fixed and cannot be modified. You can copy each one easily using the provided buttons.)

4. Configure Unanswered Call Behavior

  • From the "If unanswered" dropdown menu, choose how you want calls handled if you don't answer:

1. Dismiss Call (Default): The call ends without going to voicemail.

2. Voicemail: The call is directed to your voicemail.

5. Save Your Settings

  • Click “Save Changes” to apply your SIP deskphone configuration.

Start Using Your SIP Deskphone

Once you've generated your SIP credentials, you'll need either a compatible SIP deskphone or a softphone app. Use the provided SIP Domain, Username, and Password to configure your device. After setup, all incoming calls to your KrispCall number will ring on your configured SIP phone or application.
