Setting up KrispCall with 3CX Web Client

The 3CX Web Client is a browser-based unified communication tool that allows you to make and receive calls, chat, and manage contacts from anywhere. Integrating KrispCall with the 3CX Web Client enables you to use your KrispCall number seamlessly within the 3CX interface.

This guide will help you set up KrispCall SIP trunk on the 3CX Web Client.

Setting Up SIP Deskphone in KrispCall

To set up KrispCall on your 3CX Web Client, start by completing the SIP Deskphone setup in your KrispCall dashboard. This will give you the SIP credentials, like your username, password, and server address, that the 3CX client needs to connect with KrispCall. Without these details, you won’t be able to register the client or make any calls.

1. Go to Number Settings:

  • Log in to your KrispCall dashboard and head to the “Number Settings” section.

2. Enable SIP Deskphone (Beta):

  • Under the “Incoming Call Strategy” area, find the “SIP Deskphone (Beta)” option.
  • Select it by clicking the corresponding radio button.

3. Generate SIP Credentials:

  • Click on the “Generate SIP Settings” button. This will automatically generate a unique SIP username, password, and server address for your deskphone configuration.
  • You’ll receive the following information:

1. SIP Domain

2. SIP Username

3. SIP Password

Note: (These credentials are static and cannot be changed.) There is a button to copy each credential for easy pasting.

4. Set Unanswered Call Handling:

  • From the "If unanswered" dropdown menu, choose how you want calls handled if you don't answer:

1. Dismiss Call (Default): The call ends without going to voicemail.

2. Voicemail: The call is directed to your voicemail.

5. Save Changes:

  • Click “Save Changes” to apply your preferences and enable SIP deskphone functionality.

Using Your SIP Deskphone:

After generating your SIP credentials, you’ll need to set up either a physical SIP deskphone or a compatible softphone application. Use the SIP Domain, Username, and Password provided by KrispCall to configure your device or app. Once configured successfully, all incoming calls to your virtual phone number will be directed straight to your SIP deskphone or softphone.

1. Step 1: Log in to the 3CX Web Client

  • Go to the 3CX Web Client URL: Example: https://<client-number>.3cx.cloud

  • Enter the 3CX credentials to log in.

2. Register KrispCall SIP on 3CX

  • Click on the Admin icon at the bottom left corner.

  • Navigate to Voice & Chat.

  • Click on ‘Add trunk.

  • In the pop-up titled ‘Choose your SIP Trunk VoIP Provider’, the modal will pop up.

1. Select your country from the dropdown.

2. Select ‘CallCentric’ as the Provider dropdown.

3. Click OK.

  • Under the General tab on the ‘Add trunk’ screen, enter the following:

1. Name: Any label you prefer (e.g., KrispCall)

2. Default route: Select User

3. Main Trunk Number: Enter your KrispCall phoneNumber

4. Authenticator ID: Enter your KrispCall SIP Username

5. Authentication Password: Enter KrispCall SIP Password

6. Registrar/Server: Enter KrispCall SIP Domain

7. Click Save.

  • In the Add outbound Rule screen, no changes are required. The default settings work correctly. Simply click Save to proceed.

  • Once saved, a new outbound rule and trunk will be added.

  • All the incoming calls to the configured KrispCall number will now be redirected to your 3CX web client.

  • And to make outbound calls, use the dialer at the top-right corner of the 3CX interface.

TROUBLESHOOTING: users appearing offline

  • Sometimes users may appear offline, preventing incoming calls. To fix this: Go to your browser’s notification settings

  • Under the ‘Allowed to send notifications’ section, click on the Add button.
  • Paste your 3cx browser URL up to the ‘.cloud’ part (e.g., https://client-number.3cx.clound)
  • Click the Add button.

  • This will activate the browser notifications, and the user will appear online. The incoming calls will now function as expected.
