How to Fix Carrier restriction on Calls issue
Sometimes, your calls may not go through from your KrispCall number while trying to call specific toll-free or international numbers. This issue may arise occasionally due to restrictions on regional carriers or specific regulatory limitations imposed by the destination country.
Listed below are some of the most common cases and what you need to know about them:
India
India has imposed telecom regulations, which means that calls to Indian toll-free numbers, such as 000 800, are not currently supported by KrispCall. Numbers like these require a national dialing format that is not compatible with the international standards, such as the E.164 format.
Moreover, when you attempt to make outbound calls to Indian numbers using your KrispCall number, there is a high chance that it may also get blocked, as the local carriers may reject it, citing it as non-genuine roaming traffic.
Hence, we recommend using a non-Indian KrispCall number to reach Indian mobiles or landlines whenever possible.
China
KrispCall’s VoIP services often don’t work reliably due to China’s strict telecom regulations. Like many foreign VoIP platforms, it faces connection issues or call failures because China blocks or restricts non-approved call routing. For reliable communication, it's better to use a local SIM or a China-authorized VoIP provider.
UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bangladesh, and India – Caller ID Restrictions
In countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bangladesh, and India, caller ID for virtual numbers is heavily restricted due to stringent telecom regulations and national security concerns.
In the UAE and Saudi Arabia, virtual numbers often do not display caller ID, and VoIP services themselves are frequently blocked or throttled without a licensed provider.
India only allows caller ID display for numbers issued by licensed telecom operators, which means that most international or VoIP numbers appear as "Unknown."
In Turkey and Bangladesh, unauthorized virtual numbers may have their caller ID blocked or marked as suspicious to reduce spam and fraud.
Domestic Calling Only
Some KrispCall numbers, depending on their type and region, are restricted to domestic use only. This means you can call or receive calls only within the same country where the number is registered. International dialing from such numbers may not be supported. Some countries that only allow domestic calling include the likes of
Note: If you're running into these issues, we recommend verifying the number format, region, and call destination rules. For more clarity, please reach out to our Support Team, and we’ll help determine if the issue is related to a carrier restriction or something else.
